Atik Ambarwati on the project 'Forecast-based early action for flood management' in Indonesia, which is a collaboration of IFRC, Palang Merah Indonesia PMI and RCRC Climate Center. Ms Ambarwati "We use Impact-based Forecasting and there is one main software which will be used by Palang Merah Indonesia for the decision-making". One of the challenges, she says, is the shift to acting earlier: "We have to continue working with the government." For now the FbA is limited to the PMI structure. Related to the threshold and trigger being used: "We only have 1 or 2 days of lead time. That is a big challenge we have to address."
