“During the first peak of floods earlier this year, when the Early Action Protocol (EAP) was activated triggering the release of the FbA by the DREF, we experienced a relatively fast transfer of funds despite a Thursday activation and a weekend in between. Still, from the moment of protocol activation, the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) immediately started to use their own resources and mobilise staff and volunteers to start data collection as they knew the fund was guaranteed by the FbA by the DREF. Cash assistance, first aid and evacuation support was provided ahead of the flood”
