December 6: Münchner Tafel e.V.

Be it young or old: Anyone can fall into poverty. That is the motto of the Münchner Tafel. For more than 25 years, the organization has been providing food to people in need and to 100 social institutions throughout the Bavarian capital.

Whatever the wind and weather, 650 dedicated men and women ensure that over 20,000 Munich residents are supported with nutritious food. This unique commitment of the volunteers, driven by a sense of responsibility for their fellow citizens, makes this valuable and helpful work possible.

Particularly senior citizens affected by poverty in old age, the physically or mentally ill and single parents with children are regular visitors to the Münchner Tafel. There they receive daily fresh vegetables, fruit, bread, milk and sweets.
