Every day, the doctors and nurses of MSF delivers emergency medical aid to those who need it most, respecting the dignity of our patients, which includes respect for their cultural and religious beliefs.

Founded to save lives and speak out, MSF has treated tens of millions of people since 1971 and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.

When large-scale epidemics occur, when areas in crisis are too dangerous for many other organisations, then the medical teams of Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) are there to assist the affected population.

They organize basic medical care, treat the injured, carry out vaccination campaigns, train local staff and build up medical infrastructure. In long-term aid projects their teams fight diseases like tuberculosis, malaria, sleeping sickness, and HIV/AIDS.
