In some contexts in West Africa and the Sahel, conflict is a primary driver of food insecurity. In Burkina Faso, most insecurities happen in rural areas where most of the population depend on agriculture and livestock. Access to natural resources here can fuel the risks of conflict. Not addressing those needs immediately, may increase these risks in the future.
