About Dr. Didier Dietschi

Dr. Didier Dietschi was licensed in 1984 and got his doctoral and Privat Docent degrees in 1988 and 2004, respectively, at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He also got a PhD degree in 2003 at the University of ACTA, Netherlands. Following a 6-year period of full time teaching and research activity in Operative Dentistry and Periodontology, he started a part time activity in a private office in Geneva, dedicated to aesthetic restorative dentistry. He holds now positions of adjunct Professor at CASE Western University (USA) and senior lecturer at the University of Geneva. Dietschi has published over 115 clinical and scientific papers and book chapters on adhesive and aesthetic restorations; he also co-authored the book “Adhesive Metal-free Restorations”, edited in 1997 by Quintessence and translated in 7 languages. Dr. Dietschi is internationally known for his theoretical and practical teaching programs on adhesive & aesthetic restorations.

Chair and Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania, Division of Community Oral Health, Division of Pediatric Dentistry, Division of Restorative Dentistry, Preventive & Restorative Sciences. Prior to joining Penn Dental Medicine as Chairperson of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences in September 2006, Dr. Blatz was at Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry in New Orleans, where he served as Chairman of the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry and Biomaterials and Assistant Dean for Clinical Research. During his tenure at LSU, Dr. Blatz also directed the Masters of Science in Oral Biology Program and was a senior faculty member in the Department of Prosthodontics. From 1994 to 1998 he was an Assistant Professor and from 1998 to 1999 a senior faculty member in the Department of Prosthodontics at Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg School of Dentistry in Freiburg, Germany.
