When talking about AI, we often focus on US- or Israel-based startups and oversee that China has already becoming a huge player in the market. For our next panel we are proud to be joined by Mei Wang (Senior Manager, dgroup) who acts as our moderator:

Dr. Ye Huang (Head of Solution Architects, Alibaba Cloud DACH & CEE)
Alibaba cloud products are being involved in all kind of different areas: E.g. in e-commerce or health services. The fundamental mission of Alibaba Cloud is to use AI technologies.

Dr. Ye Huang shares an example: Their customer AirAsia was suffering from some really serious attacks to their booking system. The AI technology has helped to keep their system running and more importantly keep their business model running.

Rainer Becker (Senior Director Mobility, Byton)
He formerly was a co-founder of car2go and is now with Byton. The company is building an electric car that wants to transform the automotive into a smart device to simplify the people’s life. „It’s basically a mobile phone on wheels“, Becker explains. The company launches in China and then plans to expand to Europe. „The biggest advantage of China is, that when the government and society really want something, things are getting done very quickly.“

John Lu (Founder & CEO of WaterRock Technology is building robots for warehouses. The speciality is the intelligent inter-communication between the robots. His company enables small-medium sized companies to use the latest warehouse technologies.
„Do you want to come to Europe?“, Lu is asked. „Yes of course I would like to come to Europe. China and Europe both have the same problem, we both have labor shortage in the warehouses.“

Cheng Guohua (Hangzhou Jianpei Technology, Founder):
Healthcare is one of the biggest challenges that China is facing, one doctor has around 800 patients. Cheng Guohua’s company is tackeling this issue with medical images, big data mining and medical artificial intelligence technology. The company already has more than 7m patients.
