„Within movies you will find all kinds of cool splash animations that look really realistic, so I was interested in the software behind those animations, maybe it might help me as well“, starts Glenn Reed. This is how he found RealFlow, a multiphysics software that allows to virtually test the structure of a vehicle in situations where they’re splashed with fluid. The simulation reveals where the fluid will remain in the vehicle and how this will impact the wire harness. Reed shows a couple of videos and simulations where a single part is randomly sprayed with fluid or where a car is driving through a water hole.
By the way: The application produces a lot of data. Alone for today’s presentation, Reed has produced over 400GB of data.
