The answers to this question were controversial and can be split into two groups:
The first group contains of OEMs, engineering, software, research and a few harness manufacturers. Their answers are new processes that are reproducible and comprehensible, automation in design and manufacturing and a higher degree of transparency and traceability – all in all a new harness architecture.
The second group includes most harness manufacturers and tier 2 and component suppliers. Their reaction is to keep the harness architecture and processes, improve regarding tools for design and manufacturing as wells as pursuing a higher degree of traceability – all in all a focus on redundancies and more content.
