The fortress was founded in 963AD as the County of Luxembourg by Sigefroid, who was a count of the Ardennes* and the first person to rule Luxembourg! . . . *The Ardennes is a forestry region with rough terrain, hills and ridges, which is mostly located in Belgium and Luxembourg, but stretching as well into Germany and France.
